MentalHealthMatters. USAID and the University of Jaffna have teamed up to launch a first-of-a-kind internship program for psychology students. Working alongside counselors and doctors, the students will gain hands-on experience in a newly established counseling center. This initiative not only addresses the shortage of counselors, but also boosts the well-being of students, staff, and the community. Together, we’re shaping the future of mental health support in the country.
The program is implemented by Global Communities through USAID’s Social Cohesion and Reconciliation (SCORE) activity, working to advance inclusion and community resilience and strengthen local service provision in underserved areas.
